Vision America's Rick Scarborough, a "Christian nation" warrior, Mike Huckabee endorser, and author of the book Liberalism Kills Kids, has just weighed in with a statement on the Fort Hood shootings:
We know that Dr. Hasan is a devout Muslim who once told a fellow officer that "Muslims have a right to stand up against the U.S. military." Clearly, yesterday's rampage was not motivated by love. Given Hasan's worldview, it's probable that he was motivated in part by an animus toward Christians and Jews. Assuming that murder charges are brought against him, will Hasan also be charged with a hate crime?
For Scarborough, the recently-enacted hate crimes legislation, which amended the law to include provisions for prosecution of people who commit violent crimes motivated by bias against LGBT people, discriminates against Christians because it would criminalize preaching against homosexuality. (The previous version of the law provided for enhanced prosecutions of crimes motivated by racial, ethnic, or religious bias.) That's the standard religious right take on the hate crimes bill; to my knowledge, though, Scarborough is the first religious right leader to make the leap to suggest that failure to prosecute Hasan under the hate crimes law would demonstrate anti-Christian bias.
"Gay activists will use it [the hate crimes law] against preachers who present the Biblical view of homosexuality. Muslim groups will use it against those who speak the verifiable truth about Islam. The federal Hate Crimes Law doesn't target crime, but free speech," the Scarborough statement continues.
Scarborough goes on to claim, without proof, that Hasan "had received poor fitness reports for proselytizing his patients for Islam," and whines about an "entrenched double standard."
"If a Christian doctor witnessed for Jesus to his patients, I can guarantee he would have been discharged from the United States Army in a New York minute," Scarborough complained.
Perhaps Scarborough should take a look at Jeff Sharlet's recent piece in Harpers, "Jesus Killed Mohammed," about Christian proselytization in the military.

It is degrading and offensive to every truly gay person to be considered a “homosexual.” Using "gay" as a slick propaganda term to mask the stench of homosexualism is language abuse, grammatically incorrect, deceptive, and fraudulent, not to mention unscientific. I love and desire the possession of God by all persons, be they homosexuals, bisexuals, adulterers, cannibals, or whatever. What no loving and caring person can condone, much less accept, is the deceit, defamation, degeneracy, and corruption spread by the haters that operate the well-financed, pornography-industry-backed homosexualist special interest groups operating in America advancing a warped ideology.
Patrianews, your ignorance about gay and lesbian people is showing here. First off, I prefer to be called a "dyke" but I don't object to being called "gay" because I certainly am - in every sense of the word.
You seem to think that all gay men do is engage in anal sex. Well, the truth of the matter is that some do, and some don't. Just as heterosexuals may or may not engage in anal sex. Perhaps your knowledge of how two people can engage in sex is also lacking. There are lots of books out there to give you some instruction, however. I suggest you check into them, because your ignorance is simply staggering.
I, also, would suggest that you seek some counseling for your obsession over gay people and their lives - especially their sex lives. It's clearly unhealthy for you and is causing some sort of pathology in your life.

An honest discussion of religion will lead into sensative areas, and not all religious beliefs can withstand that much honesty. If the discussion can be brought down and given a bad name, then those beliefs can rest easy knowing they are no longer being questioned because the discussion is trashed. I think we should look at it as an inevitable part of the discussion, and if this aspect is not represented here then we are probably not being honest enough.
It is very typical of lunatics to think every one else is crazy. The over one billion Roman Catholics, the over one billion Muslims, not to mention the Hindus, Buddhists, indigenous people on all continents, as well as Communist Atheists throughout the world, all know that Homosexualism is warped, pathological and contrary to Nature and right reason... but, of course, homosexualists just know that Humanity is crazy and they are only sane ones in the asylum.
