Sarah Palin Favorites “Jesus Against Obama” Church Sign

Here’s a lovely (and by lovely, I mean vile and extremist) image to end this week. So lovely an image, in fact, that Sarah Palin, retweeted it as one of her favorites this week after Ann Coulter tweeted it herself, saying, “This is my new church.”

Her favorite was to a link to a church sign that said, “Blood of Jesus Against Obama/History made 4 Nov 2008, a Taliban Muslim illegally elected president USA Hussein”

The sign is outside the church of Pastor James David Manning, who once held a trial declaring Obama ineligible to be president because he says he wasn’t born in the US and who refers to him as a “pimp” and “long-legged mack daddy” in sermons.

Before her Twitter feed removed the photo from her favorites, Gawker took a screen capture here. Palin, as usual, first blames some anonymous person on her staff and then, of course, blames the media for reporting on it.

Asked for comment, Palin wrote to ABC News:

“Jake, I’ve never purposefully ‘favorited’ any Tweet. I had to go back to my BlackBerry to even see if such a function was possible. I was traveling to Alaska that day…it was an obvious accidental ‘favoriting,’ but no one can mistake that Ann Coulter was obviously being tongue in cheek with that Tweet. Shall I correct this with whichever wonderful media outlet ran with this (an obviously bored reporter…since there must be nothing going on in the world today, like, um, ramifications of a shake up of power in the U.S. House of Representatives?).”
