Prosperity Gospel
May 4, 2008.

Prosperity Gospel is the theological idea, promoted particularly in American megachurches, that it is God’s desire for Christians to be rich and prosperous in all areas of life, especially financially, and that this wealth is viewed as evidence of God’s blessing upon the life of the recipient. Although in some circles the idea of a prosperity gospel is repugnant, suggesting an unholy attachment to the false idol of wealth, megachurch preachers like Joel Osteen, Rod Parsley and T.D. Jakes have not repudiated the term. See article "McCain's Prosperity Preacher" here.
