Moral Majority
The Moral Majority was a consortium of political action groups, founded in the late seventies by Jerry Falwell, to further conservative religious goals.
The group itself was certainly influential, but the term (partly due to its catchy alliteration) proved even more so, serving to define this early phase of the culture wars.
